Robert Houston Hickok, 91, of Buchanan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the Brian Center Nursing Home. He was born October 25, 2004 in Springwood, VA. Mr. Hickok was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWI. He was a member of Rainbow Forest Baptist Church. Mr. Hickok is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian Hickok, a son, Michael Hickok, two daughters, Brenda Hatcher, and her husband, Jimmy, and Cindy Puckett, and her husband, Steve, three granddaughters, Lori Eastman, Jennifer Lutz, and Amber Reese, three great-grandchildren, Keenan Eastman, Kennedy Eastman, and Peyton Reese, and a special friend, Susie Newcomb. He was a wonderful, kind and gentle husband, dad, grand pa, and great-grand pa. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Rd., Daleville. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 11 am at Rader Chapel with the Rev. Mike Grooms officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Buchanan. The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Stidham for his kindness and compassion to their dad, grand pa, and to their family. Also a special thanks to the Brian Center staff for all the care they gave to papa. Rader Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. "Serving Every Family As If Our Very Own."
