Hammond Hickok, 81, of Buchanan, died Friday, November 24, 1995. He was preceded in death by 42 days by his wife, Annie Caldwell Hickok, and they are now reunited. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific, and had retired from Lone Star Cement Company with 31 years service. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Madison and Brenda N. Hickok, Roanoke, Henry David and Faye B. Hickok, Tim D. Hickok, Deanna Smith, all of Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lillian Hickok, Buchanan; sisters and brother-in-law, Lena H. Johnston, Lois and Guy Snidow, all of Buchanan; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Angela, Kathy, William and Julie; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27, 1995, at 2 p.m. in Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Creech and the Rev. Chester L. Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. For those wishing to make a contribution, please consider VFW Post 1841, Daleville, Va., of which he was a member. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Troutville.
