She attended high school in Chicago, earned a degree from Wheaton College, IL and attended Columbia University in New York for graduate work in anthropology. She met Conrad Meints via a mutual friend and they were married on May 27, 1950 in Chicago. They started their married life in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and moved to Duluth in1958.
Naomi was first a loving wife and mother and later in life worked as an office receptionist/ greeter/decorator, for her husband’s podiatry practice, Conrad L. Meints Podiatry. She was active in her family’s extracurricular activities and involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her faith was central to Naomi’s entire life. She was a member of First Lutheran Church from 1958 until joining Concordia Lutheran Church in 2009. She was active in the church altar guild, church circles, taught Sunday School and volunteered at Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She enjoyed decorating, reading, knitting, sewing, various artistic crafts, and camping with the family on the Gunflint Trail. She was the family cheerleader; and never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. She was generous, kind, grateful, and loved to laugh. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. She is now happily reunited with her husband, Conrad, and looking forward to a glorious Christmas this year with the Lord!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Violet and her husband Conrad.
