David Earl Bratcher, 85 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at CrossPointe Church with Rev. Ron Thiessen officiating.

David was born December 15, 1930, in Canute, Oklahoma to Earl and Dona (Potter) Bratcher and passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. David was raised and attended school in Canute, graduating from Canute High School in 1948. After high school he married and they had 5 children. He began farming in western Oklahoma. In the 60’s, they moved to Colorado and he worked as a firefight in Denver. David returned to Oklahoma in 1970 and returned to farming and in 1975 he moved to Weatherford. He met Janet in 1980 and they were married in 1988 and had one daughter, Jennifer. David enjoyed the outdoors, going to auctions, hunting, fishing, playing tennis, and golfing. Memorials may be made to the CrossPointe Church.


David is survived by his wife, Janet Bratcher of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Don Bratcher and wife, Carol of Kansas and Greg Bratcher of Sterling, Kansas; four daughters, Jan Dycus of California, Barbara Kaven and husband, Ron of Timberon, New Mexico, Patty Ravenstein and husband, Jerry of Sterling, Kansas, and Jennifer Strong and husband, Chad of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Dennis Bratcher and wife, Robin of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; one sister, Rosalie Burk of Hutchison, Kansas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elsie Spradlin.
