Elsie May Spradlin of Granite passed from this life on September 18, 2016 at her home at the age of 84. Elsie was born on June 17, 1932 to Earl and Dona Bratcher in Arizona. After graduation from Canute High School in 1950, Elsie attended the Sayre Jr. College and then SWOSU and graduated with both a Bachelors Degree and a Masters in Psychology. She married the love of her life Donald Spradlin and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Together they raised their two children with love and respect, that’s the way they treated each other which was the reason for their successful marriage. Elsie worked for 27 years for the State of Oklahoma as a juvenile counselor and supervisor. She viewed her job as a ministry to young people and their families during difficult times. She was a member of the Mangum Church of the Nazarene where she also taught Sunday school for over 60 years. Elsie loved gardening, collecting dolls, life on the farm and especially spending time with her family.

Elsie is survived by her husband Donald of the home; daughter LaDonna Spencer from Willow, Ok. Son Roger Spradlin and wife Ginger of Bakersfield, California; two brothers; David Bratcher of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Dennis Bratcher and wife Robin of Bethany, Oklahoma, one sister; Roselie Burk of Hutchinson, Kansas. Elsie leaves a legacy of six grandchildren; Shane Wardell, Sherri Grimes, Samuel Dempsey, Matthew Spradlin, Andrew Spradlin and Faith Busby and many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Elsie is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Charity. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by many friends as well, however we are confident she is with our Lord!

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for her in the hospital and comforting hand hospice. They would also like to thank Elsie’s home care givers. God bless you for ministering to our family!
