Mr. Klym died at home on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007. He was 88.
Born in Gorham, N.D., on Aug. 5, 1918, he was the son of Karl Kyrylo and Ella Dorkia (Haverluk) Klym. After completing his schooling, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in both North and South Dakota.
He married Verda I. Lingscheit on Dec. 12, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash. The couple had met while working together at the Menefee Turkey Ranch near Yamhill. They went on to own and operate a poultry operation of their own near Cornelius.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Klym is survived by four daughters, Lana Hart of Fairview, Donna Klym of Oregon City, L.B. Ketelsen of Walla Walla, Wash. and Lori Azrak of Portland; a son, Arthur of Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Olga Van Volkenberg of Mesa, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Karl; brother, Michael; and sister, Anna Kipp.
