Jack Baudino

Age 85 of Kinsman, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Park Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Morris.

Born July 5, 1931 in Carbon Hill, Illinois. John Anthony was a son of the late John and Katherine (Darin) Baudino. He was raised in Carbon Hill and graduated from Coal City High School. Jack went on to honorably serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 30, 1951, Jack married Marijayne Matthews in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and together they made their home and raised their family in rural Kinsman. Jack farmed his entire life in the Verona-Kinsman area and he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinsman. He was a member of the American Legion Coal City Post #796, and served on the board of directors at: Verona Kinsman Fire Department, Mazon State Bank, Highland Township and Kinsman Telephone Company. Jack enjoyed playing cards with his buddies in Kinsman, was a great Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan. He will be remembered for his love of watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren show cattle, as well as attending their sporting events.

Survivors include his wife Marijayne; children: David (Barb) Baudino of Mazon, Duane Baudino of Fredrick, Oklahoma, and Jim (Mary) Baudino and Steve (Michelle) Baudino, both of Verona; (7) grandchildren: Lori Baudino of Morris, Carrie (Brent) Sulzberger of Verona, Nick (Kelly) Baudino of Kinsman, Eric (Kelli) Baudino of Mazon and Brant, Brody and Paige Baudino of Verona; (9) great grandchildren: Shae, Tyler, Zack, Jada, Ava, Colton, Jaxon, Liam and Alli, and one brother-in-law Joseph T. Phillips of Carbon Hill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Brad Baudino; brother Pete (LaVerne) Baudino; two sisters: Connie (Bill) Frye and Dorothy (John) Welch; sister-in-law Margaret "Pat" Phillips and brother-in-law Nelson (Pat) Matthews.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Jack will then lie in state Friday morning, December 16th in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 219 Emmett Street in Kinsman from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Reverend Stanley Drewniak.

Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack's grandchildren: Lori, Carrie, Nick, Eric, Brant, Brody, and Paige.
