SHROYER, MRS. CLARA - Shroyer Services Tomorrow - Funeral services in St. Betholemew's church on Winton road, Northern Hills, Cincinnati will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for Mrs. Clara Shroyer, 91, who died on Monday, December 21, at Betheseda North hospital at Cincinnati. Burial will be in the New Carlisle cemetery. Mrs. Shroyer was born on May 17, 1879 in Elizabeth township, the daughter of John and Almyra Tower Mumford. She married Herschel Shroyer, a native of Bethel township, and the couple lived for a number of years in the area. They also spent about three years in South Carolina and some time in Troy before Mr. Shroyer established his nursery business at Cincinnati. Mr. Shroyer died in 1947, and two of their children also preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Hazel Faust Conner of Troy and West Milton and William Shroyer who died last year. He had continued the family nursery business. Until the last few years, Mrs. Shroyer, who made her home with her daughter Nell (Mrs. Al Link) of Cincinnati, had spent her summers with two other daughters, Marie (Mrs. Sam Studebaker, Sr.) of Bethel township and Patty (Mrs. David Dinsmore) of Phoneton. Her birthday was the occasion each year of the Shroyer family reunion. Other survivors include another daughter, Martha (Mrs. John Behle) of Cincinnati; four other sons, Parker, Raymond and Walter, all of Cincinnati and Steve of Sumrall, Mississippi; 24 grandchildren; and 63 great-grandchildren.
