U.S. NAVY, 20TH REGIMENT SEA-BEE UNIT
Son of Theodore & Verna (Fatzinger) Kauffman and husband of Arlene (Uhl) Kauffman. They were married July 5, 1946. He was a 1944 graduate of Allentown High School and then served 2 years in the Navy. In 1952 he graduated from the Industrial Management Institute of Philadelphia and then worked for the Allentown Veteran's Administration for one year. He then went to work for Bethlehem Furniture and worked there until 1998. When Bethlehem Furniture transferred their production to Red Lion, PA in 1958 he transferred there until 1967 when he transferred back to Allentown. He became vice president in charge of production in 1969. He continued with the company as a consultant after retiring in 1998. Beginning in 2003, he and his son owned and operated Le Hi Valley Candle Company.
