Funeral services were conducted this afternoon for James Augustus Antwine, 79, of E. Orvist St., who died Sunday after an illness of about 2 weeks.
Mr. Antwine was born Oct. 31, 1862, on Barnhart Island, the son of John Isajah and Arella Pratt Antwine. He attended schools on Barnhart Island during his early life and on Mar. 3, 1898, he married the former Miss Cassie Conliffe of Cornwall, Ontario. (Daughter of George Conliffe and Minnie Antoine/Antwine Conliffe)

He lived on a number of farms in the Massena area and worked as a farmer until 1923, taking a position at the aluminum plant at that time. He retired 12 years ago from active work.
Mr. Antwine is survived b his wife and one son, Edgar Antwine of Norfolk.
Funeral rites were held at 2 this afternoon at Phillips Memorial Home and at 2:30 at St. John's Episcopal Church. Burial was made at Pine Grove Cemetery.
