Cappy was retired from F. X. Smith’s Sons Cigar Co. in McSherrystown with over 50 years of service. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown. Cappy enjoyed duckpin bowling, sewing, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Antonia Kern of Spring Grove and Jane Bedford and her husband Mark of McSherrystown; five grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Jenny Bradenbaugh, James Kern, and Benjamin and Brian Bedford; nine great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Gavin, Janina, Colton, Carson, Alex, Elizabeth, Amber and Jade; and two sisters, Pat and Henrietta. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Marie Withers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Annunciation Catholic Church, McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
