Rev.Allen 91, passed away Cct 10, 2008 after a battle with cancer.

He was the commencement speaker and valedictorian for his graduating class at the Southwestern Bible Institute. He was a member of the Louisiana District Council of the Assemblies of God. He served as pastor at churches in Wesson, AR, Hodge, LA and Bastrop, LA. for 25 years, and Sulpher, LA. He was the secretary Treasurer/Home Missions Director for the Assemblies of God Council.

On Nov.20, 2000, the City of Bastrop honored him by declaring that date "Rev.J.E. Allen day" and presented him with a key to the city. At the time of his death he was serving as Associate Pastor at Pioneer Assembly of God Pioneer, LA. He served for 75 years in the ministry of the Lord.

On Feb. 2, 2008 he married Rev. Annie Mae Farmer who is the longtime pastor of Pioneer Assembly of God. They were wed for 8 months until his death Oct. 10. Rev. Allen's 2 daughters are serving as missionaries.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Juanita Allen. and a granddaughter Michelle Lednicky.

He is survived by wife Annie Mae Farmer Allen of Pioneer, LA.; 2 daughters, Marcia Lednicky and husband Maurice of Bangkok, Thailand and Marigold Cheshier and husband Michael of Springfield, MO and Kenya, Africa; grandchildren Melissa White and husband Adam of Springfield, MO.; James Michael "Mikey" Cheshier of Springfield, MO.; great-grandchildren Michael White, Maurice White, Serenity Grace Cheshier; step-daughter, Patricia Farmer Lisenby & husband Conley of Dunn, LA.; stepson Arthur Ray Farmer & wife Karen of Rayville, LA. 12 step-grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren.
