Actress. A child performer, she appeared in several popular pictures of the 1940s. Born Joan Marie Felt, her father worked as an electrical engineer with the government, her mother was a club and stage pianist. Her family moved to California when she was four and soon after was cast for the role of 'Sunny' in the picture "One Mile from Heaven" (1937). This was followed by "Walking Down Broadway" (1938) and "Mr. Moto's Last Warning" (1939). She was also cast in the long running Broadway play "Panama Hattie" (1940 to 1942), which starred Ethel Merman. She moved on to more prominent roles such as 'Honeybell' opposite Ginger Rogers in "Primrose Path" (1940) and "Obliging Young Lady" (1942); the latter in which she starred. She will perhaps be best remembered for playing 'Agnes Smith', opposite Judy Garland in "Meet Me in St. Louis" (1944) and as 'Patricia "Patsy" Gallagher' opposite Bing Crosby in "The Bells of St. Mary's" (1945). She retired from the entertainment industry to marry and raise her family.
