Margaret was daughter of Jacob Yerian & Barbara Leiby. She was born about 1790 in Penn Twp., then Northumberland Co., PA.

She married:

(1) Isaac Thomas on September 21, 1815 in Highland Co., OH

(2) ? McGowan between 22 Mar 1831 (when Isaac's estate was settled) & 1840

Margaret & Isaac Thomas had six daughters: Eve (McGowan); Barbara (Smalley, McDermitt); Catherine (Thoroman); Ann Elizabeth (Kilpatrick); Margaret (Thoroman); & Annettie (McCoy).

Deed records show that Isaac's widow Margaret married a McGowan. He was most likely John McGowan, the father of her daughter Eve's husband Nathaniel. The Adams Co. court house burned in 1910 destroying most of the marriage records, so there is no record of the remarriage.

Margaret's date of death is not known. She was living with daughter Catherine and Catherine's husband John Thoroman at the time of the 1850 census. She is most likely buried at Steam Furnace Cemetery or Jacksonville (Jacktown) Cemetery.
