Larry E. Kraus, 62, of Eaton died Sunday, Feb. 23, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1940, at Windsor Memorial Hospital in Windsor to Dave and Dolly (Wassemiller) Kraus. Mr. Kraus was raised on his grandparents' farm, now the location of Windsor High School. When he was 10 years old his family moved north of Windsor, where he worked with his parents farming until he was 17.
In 1959, he marred Darlene Kerbel in Durango. They later divorced. Mr. Kraus farmed and fed cattle with this father from 1960-70. From 1970-73, he worked at Eastman Kodak, where he learned to run heavy equipment. In 1974, he started his career as a heavy equipment operator and worked at many different jobs in the area and in Wyoming.
During the last 10 years of employment, Mr. Kraus worked at gravel pits in the Windsor area preparing landscaping and made several of the lakes around Windsor.
Mr. Kraus enjoyed hunting, fishing and the mountains.
Survivors are his wife, Connie Krause of Eaton; a daughter, Shauna Stewart, and three sons, Marty Krause, Monty Kraus and Kelly Kraus, all of Greeley; his mother Dolly Kraus of Windsor; a sister, Karen Schmidt, also of Windsor; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His father is deceased. No services have been scheduled. Cremation.
