Waterloo, Sept. 9.—Mrs. Mary Matilda Ritter, one of the oldest and most esteemed residents of this place, died at her late home, Elisha street, yesterday afternoon, at the age of nearly 85 years. Mrs. Ritter was the widow of the late Michael E. Ritter. She was born in Varick, the daughter of John and Martha Blain. She resided in this vicinity all her life. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. James B. Henion, Waterloo; Mrs. Douglas Laub, Fayette, and Mrs. Charles Pierson, Waterloo; two sons, Melvin S. Ritter and Homer M. Ritter, both of Fayette.
The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the residence, 6 West Elisha street, the Rev. George L. Pasche, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
