David Edwards Blaine married Catharine Paine in 1853 in Seneca Falls, New York, and together they arrived in Seattle in 1853 David and Catharine were one of the first Seattle Pioneer couples. David was the first resident Methodist minister in Seattle, his wife Catharine, was the first Seattle school teacher. The family remained in Seattle, until they moved to Oregon in 1856.
From Oregon they moved back to their home in Seneca Falls, NY. David was a pastor for a number of churches in New York and in Pennsylvania. In the early 1880's they returned to Seattle, where they remained for the rest of their lives.


In addition to the siblings linked to this memorial,David had one sibling whose remains have not been located:
