A celebration of Norene Minchew's life, age 79 of Brazoria, will be held Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Brazoria Church of Christ, 810 S. Brooks in Brazoria, TX. with Bro. Rick Moore officiating.

Norene was born August 5, 1937 to Charles & Edna Van Metre in Starks, LA and passed away on December 1, 2016. She was a graduate of Starks High School and the Salutatorian of the Class of 1955. She moved to Brazoria at the age of 19 where she learned about the Lord from her sister Mary, was baptized into the Church, and became a faithful member of the Church of Christ for the remainder of her life.

She owned a restaurant in Brazoria for several years, The Brown Bag, and anyone that ate there or at her house knew she loved to cook. Norene loved God, her family, friends, her two dogs Gizmo & Romo, and the Dallas Cowboys. She had an infectious smile and was always laughing and enjoying life.

She is survived by three sons, Bo Minchew & wife Michelle of Brazoria, TX, David Minchew & wife Carol of Round Rock, TX, and Michael Minchew & wife Cami of Rossville, GA; nine grandchildren, Megan Evitts & husband Austin of Rosharon, TX, Chris Minchew of Brazoria, TX, Ethan & Owen Minchew of Round Rock, TX, Doug Miller of Houston, TX, Rebekah Bartley & husband Jesse of Charlotte, NC, Brian Miller of Rossville, GA, and Ben & Troy Minchew of Rossville, GA; four great-grandchild, Camryn Evitts and Channing, Brie & Everley Bartley; one sister Betty Hudson of Starks, LA; as well as several nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Norene was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Edna Van Metre, her five brothers George, Van, Ernest, Jack, & Harvey and three sisters Mary, Lula & Alice.
