Steven R. Trotter was born August 7, 1949 in Hardtner, Kansas, son of Howard and Shirley Lees (Brower) Trotter. His family moved to Beaver, Oklahoma where he graduated from Beaver High School in 1967.

Steve joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Long Beach, California. During this time, Steve met and fell in love with Sandy Shaw. On May 30, 1970, Steve and Sandy were married in Downey, California. Later Steve was transferred to San Diego, where he was honorably discharged.

In 1973, they moved to Attica. In 1984, Steve opened Trotter's Boot and Shoe Repair, and they moved to Anthony. For more than 30 years, Steve enjoyed being a heeler and sole saver, for Anthony and the surrounding communities.

Steve loved the outdoors, fishing and watching his grandchildren play. He spent many Sundays watching football with his family.

On December 4, 2016, Steve passed away suddenly at the Anthony Medical Center at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy of Anthony; children: Jason Trotter and wife, Evelyn of Murrieta, CA, Crystal Anthony and husband, Shane of Anthony, Stacy Kristek and husband, Jeremiah of Anthony, KS, J. Steven Trotter of Wichita and Trenton Lee and wife, Annette of Anthony; siblings: Pat Bertholf and husband, Dean of Anthony, Marcia Foster and husband, Bruce of Turpin, OK, John Trotter and wife, Patsy of Beaver, OK, and Bill Trotter and wife, Nancy of Attica, KS; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony. Burial will follow in Attica Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Anthony Senior Citizens, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
