Allen Achterhof, age 74 of Holland, surrounded by his family, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, November 27, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Bob Achterhof and John Achterhof.

Al is survived by his wife of 52 years Judy; his children and grandchildren: Tom and Marcy Achterhof (Drake, Ben, Eli and Hannah), Steve and Julie Achterhof (Madison and Ella); siblings: Jim and Carol Achterhof, Lois and Paul Hendrickson, Paul and Marge Achterhof, Ruth and Dave Miedema, Myra and Randy Reimink, Bill and Hollee Achterhof; sisters and brothers-in-law: Bonnie Achterhof, Barb Achterhof, Patsy and John Little, Don and Cindy Russcher, Dave and Rosemarie Russcher, Chuck and Mary Russcher and many nieces and nephews.

Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked at Parkway Electric for 45 years, retiring as President. Al was a former member of Montello Park Christian Reformed Church and a current member of Providence Christian Reformed Church.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at La Casa del Padre Church (formerly Montello Park Christian Reformed Church) 609 West 20th Street, Holland. The Reverend Jim Busscher will officiate. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to TEAM.org to support missionaries AJ and Alaina Westendorp.
