Mary "Liz" Elizabeth Alexander Hoatland was reunited with her husband Harold "Butch" Hoatland in Heaven on November 25, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

She was born September 17, 1959 in McComb, MS to Grady Alexander and Mary Nell Braswell Alexander.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones Family Funeral Home, and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at Jones Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery. Rev. Thomas Wicker and Rev. Vann Windom will officiate.

Liz was a faith-filled, loving and caring person. She was a caretaker to her husband and his mother, prior to their passing. Her seventeen years of teaching elementary school prior to her illness was her dream come true. She was beloved by her students when she dressed as Miss Giggles, the clown for their entertainment. She worked at Otken Elementary for eleven years prior to her move to Atlanta, Ga where she taught at Dresden Elementary.

In Georgia she attended Crossroad Church of Dunwoody and prior to that, she and her family were members of West McComb Baptist Church. She always devoted herself to her family and friends in times of need. Liz grew up in Fernwood, upon marriage moved to McComb and later to Georgia.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Harold "Butch" L. Hoatland and a granddaughter; Claire Elizabeth Hoatland.

She is survived by her daughter; Jamie Lynn Hoatland of Atlanta, a son and daughter-in-law; Jeremy Hoatland and Lisa of McComb; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Wayne Alexander and LauraLee, and Wendell Alexander and Jan May, nieces and nephews; Jennifer A. Privatte, Wendell Alexander, Jr., Timothy Alexander, Natalie A. Thornhill, Tyler Alexander, numerous aunts, uncles, four great nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Alexander, James Freeman, Wayne Alexander, Wendell Alexander, James Ray Privatte and Tyler Alexander.
