Beatrice Lucille "Betty Lou" Wolf Johnnie Bissonnette
Betty Lou, age 83, passed away November 26, 2016 at home. She was born to Harry and Ursula Wolf at St. Francis Hospital on December 1, 1932 and was a proud life-long resident of Colorado Springs. Betty Lou graduated from St. Mary's High School with art and music skills.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ron; daughters, JoDeen Johnnie and Judie [sic] Howard; and sons-in-law: Phil Howard and Larry Young; grandchildren: Shawn Robinson (husband Tim Robinson), John Young (wife Shelli DeVor Young); six wonderful great-grandchildren: Hunter, Alexis, Madison, Marcus, Xavier and Sydney; a brother, Richard Wolf (wife Gracie); and many loved nephews and nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Hank Wolf, and a sister, Marie Doll Lemesany.
Betty Lou was a very loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was an excellent role model for always doing things the right way and she was also very proud and protective of her family. She was very artistic and creative and enjoyed life. She was always a little unpredictable. Her passions were making beaded jewelry, dancing, sewing, woodworking, and gardening and she had the awesome ability to take common everyday items and arrange them into pleasing works of art. She was one of the founding members and a past president of the Pikes Peak Water Garden Society and always gave her ideas and projects the best of her abilities so they would be successful.
Betty Lou struggled with dementia for a number of years and in lieu of flowers, the family would like everyone to try and make a little time to help out older family members or neighbors who may need a little help or support suffering from this disease.
A celebration of life service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Columbarium of Hope.
