Cremation burial. Buried in Oak Mound Cemetery on 3 Dec 2016.

Attended Oak Mound School and was confirmed in the Oak Mound Congregational Church, where she attended as a child and young adult, living with her grandparents (Alfred and Annie Olson) during many of those years. Ethel was also a charter member of the first Oak Mound 4-H Club which was organized in 1933 and disbanded around 1935, and was a charter member and the first president of the 2nd Oak Mound 4-H Club which existed from 1935-ca. 1941.

Ethel L. Dahl, 98, of Moorhead, MN, died on November 23, 2016, in Eventide Senior Living, Moorhead, MN.

Ethel Louise Turing was born on September 14, 1918, in Moorhead, MN to Emil and Olga (Olson) Turing. She grew up in rural Moorhead, graduating from Halstad High School. After high school, she graduated from Dakota Business College.

On March 12, 1947, Ethel married Alvin Dahl and they made their home in Moorhead with their two children, Michael and LuRae "Susie." Alvin passed away in 1997. Ethel started her career in bookkeeping at Peerless Finance during WW II. She owned and managed Turing Loans. She then worked for the Clay County Auditor's office, Industrial Builders and other various offices in Fargo-Moorhead, before working at Moorhead State University. She worked in the math department for 13 years.

Ethel was formerly a member of Oak Mound Congregational Church in rural Moorhead. She was currently a member at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, where she was a very active member over the years, serving her church in many ways. Ethel enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a dedicated mother who lovingly took care of her daughter Susie, through many medical challenges. Ethel also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, crocheting, knitting and fishing with Alvin.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. (Pam) Dahl, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Chris Dahl, Stephanie Dahl and Jacob (Emily) Dahl; great-grandsons, Hunter, Gunner, Colt, Gauge, and Cooper Dahl; and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, LuRae "Susie" Dahl; brother, Stewart Turing; and sister, Anna Lien.

Memorial Service: Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN, with visitation one hour before the service.

Interment: Oak Mound Cemetery, Kragnes Township, MN.
