Edna Lucille (Furnish) Pommerehn, 81, 212 Crestwood Drive, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at her home.

She was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Vevay, the daughter of George S. and Martha (Richter) Furnish. She was married Feb. 13, 1940, to James E. Pommerehn.

She was a graduate of Vevay High School. She lived in Pleasant until 1982, when she moved to Madison.

She worked as the executive secretary for the Switzerland County Service Board of many years until she retired in 1972. She served as Circuit Court clerk for Switzerland County Judge Eddie James and was a secretary in the county treasurer's office.

During World War II, she was a clerk at the Jefferson Proving Grounds.

She was a member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star 407 and the Brushy Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, C. Ann Pommerehn and Jeanne E. Jones, both of Madison; a sister, Mary Alice Howard, Norris; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brother, George E. Furnish.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay. Bennington Order of Eastern Star 407 will conduct services at 7 p.m. today.

Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or North United Methodist Church.
