Claypoole Genealogy, The Pennsylvania Magazine of History, Vol 14, page 86, quotes Josiah's father, James Claypoole: "My sonne Josiah was borne ye 9th day of 9 Month 1669 about half an hour past 9 at night in Scots yard as above [near London stone]." Quaker "9 Month" was November in 1669, and 10 days must be added for leap year correction since 1582, yielding 19 Nov 1669 as the Gregorian Calendar date of Josiah's birth.

The same reference quotes Josiah's father, James Claypoole: "My sonne Josiah departed this life the 2d day 3d Month 1670 about 7th hour at night at Kingston upon Thames and was there buried in our friends burying place." Quaker "3d Month" was May in 1670, and 10 days must be added for leap year correction since 1582 yielding 12 May 1670 as the Gregorian Calendar date of Josiah's death.
