Georgia Benner Douglass, 98, Greenwood, passed away November 19, 2016. Born March 5, 1918 in Indianapolis to the late George and Jeanette (Brown) Smart, she cherished time spent with her family and friends. She retired as credit branch manager at Citizen's Federal Bank and had previously worked in the payroll department at Eli Lilly.

An avid golfer and member of Hillview Country Club, she had served as president of the ladies 18 Hole Club. she was an artist, enjoyed painting and flower gardening.

Suvivors children, Patricia (Harvey) Rau, Douglas A. Benner (Jon Vrban) and Gregory (Annalisa) Benner, 5 grandchildren, Todd Rau, Scott Rau, Tricia McGee, Kate Hardy, Kayla Benner; seven great grandchildren, Lauren Rau, Maddy Rau, Reiley McGee, ethan McGee, Grace Rau, Hannah Rau and Lily Rau; brother, Bill Smart, nieces Silvia Smart, Anita Smart, Marilyn Bebe, Beth McNabb, Betsy Robards and Joyce Tennison and nephew, Wayne Benner. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Benner, second husband, David Douglass; and sister Barbara McCarty.

Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Dec 8 at Southport Presbyterian church. Private visitation will be at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at the Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Rd, 135.

She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Southport Presbyterian Church.
