The couple moved to the Bluejacket, OK area in 1954. In 1960 Ethel began a long and successful employment with Eastern State Hospital from which she retired. Ethel was a member of the Vinita First Christian Church and was active working with the youth and Christian Women’s Fellowship. In declining health she remained interested in, and supportive of, her church family.
Her home going was November 23, 2016.
Ethel is survived by a son Wayne Engle and wife Dollretta of Bluejacket and daughters Mary Thornton of Dewey, OK and Florence Osborn and husband Leon of Bluejacket, eight grandchildren and a large number of great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Roy Adams and wife Virginia of Chanute, KS, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ethel was pre-deceased by her husband of 58 years, a son and a daughter and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016 at the First Christian Church of Vinita with Pastor Gary Graham officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be sent to the First Christian Church Youth Fund, 226 W. Canadian Ave, Vinita, OK 74301. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
