Chalmes Eugene "Gene" Faust, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born March 21, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late William Arnold Faust and Leola Ivey Faust.

A graduate of Robinson's Business College, he was retired from the City of Spartanburg Fire Department after 36 years of service, was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline (George) Faust; a daughter, Gina Marie Lytle and her husband Alan of Chesnee; a half-brother, Richard Faust of Spartanburg; a step-brother, Billy Burgess of Spartanburg; and a grandson, Adam Lytle.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy George and Margie Gray; and a brother, William Faust.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Cryptside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams and the Rev. Ondra Black.

Memorials could be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center Foundation, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
