Death Of Mrs. Ihly.
The End Came After A Stroke Of Paralysis Last Night.
Mrs. Harriett W. Ihly, mother of Mrs. J.A. Dasher, Sr., and Mrs. Jennie Darnell, died at the residence of Mr. Dasher on Central Avenue about 7 o'clock last night. Her death was due to a paralytic stroke which came to her on Wednesday afternoon. She had been in unusually good health up to that time and spent most of the morning visiting friends in the city. She returned to Mr. Dasher's house and ate a hardy dinner and was feeling well afterwards. During the afternoon, however, she was attacked with paralysis and was insensible in a few minutes. She never rallied and the end came a little after dark last night.
Mrs. Ihly was seventy-nine years of age, her death occurring on her birthday. She came to Valdosta thirty years ago from Effingham County. Her husband died forty-five years ago in Rome and the caring for her family devolved upon her. She was a sister of the late R.H. Wisenbaker and of Mrs. Tom Keller, who survives her. She had been a consistent member of the Christian Church for fifty years and was an excellent woman in all things that combine to make a fine Christian character. The funeral services will be conducted from the Christian Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock and the remains will be laid to rest in the city cemetery.
The deceased leaves a large circle of relatives in this city and section to mourn her death. The Times joins a large number of friends in sympathy for them.
