Fred Bennett Fred Bennett (age 99) entered into rest on September 10, 2009 in Bellingham, WA. Fred was born on June 21, 1910 in Decatur County, Iowa to Howard and Anna (Rogers) Bennett. At a young age, Fred's family moved to Northern CO. in 1915. Where he lived on a large ranch until the age of nineteen. During his first two years of school, Fred was taught in a one room school house. He continued on through grade school at the Highland District and continued on to the University of Colorado for classes in Business and Accounting. After college, Fred worked in a family related business for several years in Boulder, CO. and in 1940, secured a position at the largest utility company in Colorado as an accountant. Fred retired in 1975 after 35 years with the company and enjoyed times wintering in Mesa, Arizona. In 1992, Fred moved to Payette, Idaho and on April 11, 1992, married Rose Ellen Snyder. In July of 1993, he moved with Rose to Bellingham, WA. Fred spent his final two years at the Courtyard receiving excellent care. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Colorado, Rotary Club and Birchwood Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose of Bellingham; one son; one daughter; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
