OBITUARY
IRA V. BENNETT was born in Decatur county, Iowa May 30, 1895, the son of HOWARD H. and FRANCES ANN BENNETT, and passed away November 11, 1948, aged 53 years, 5 months, and 11 days. He united with Palestine Baptist church in fall of 1911.
He was united in marriage August 13, 1914 to CORA HEMBRY. To this union seven children were born, five of whom survive: PAUL of Leon, Iowa; JUNE ROSE BRYAN, of South Gate, California; DOROTHY FULLERTON of Bell, California and JEAN and FRANCES at home. Besides the widow and children he leaves to mourn his passing, three grandchildren,: RONALD CLAIRE FULLERTON, ZELLA NADINE BRYAN and PAUL REED BENNETT; also five brothers: JAMES T., of Huntington Park, California; ARTHUR S. of Lancaster, California; LLOYD of Rivera, California; BENJAMIN R., of Atlantic, Iowa; and FRED of Boulder, Colorado.
Most of his life was spent on a farm in Decatur county until he moved to Leon, about six years ago where he lived at the time of his passing.
Funeral service was held at the Stewart Funeral Home, November 17, conducted by Rev. ELBA DALE. [Interment made at Leon Cemetery.]
