Laura May Trout, daughter of Henry and Julia Trout was born in Highland County, Ohio on April 15, 1868 and passed away in Villisca Iowa, on March 13, 1958 ate 89 years and 11 months.
She grew to womanhood in Ohio and on September 17, 1899 she was married to Armistead Doggett. Following their marriage they came to Iowa and made their home at Ida Grove.
After about two years they came to Villisca and she has made her home in this vicinity ever since.
To them were born three children, Lilian Johnson, Irma Patterson, and Donald Doggett, all of Villisca.
Mr. Doggett passed away April 17, 1928.
She is survived by her three children, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There is also one brother, Clinton Trout of Ohio. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
As a young woman she united with the Christian Union Church in Berryville, Ohio. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doggett were held at the Wolfe Funeral Home Saturday, March 15 at 3:00 p.m. The services were conducted by Rev. Paul Ellis. Mrs. Icle Fisher was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Mable Dunn. Mrs. Donald Fisher and Mrs. Larson took care of the flowers. Pall bearers were Nels Larson, Al Darnell, Les Johnson, Ed Wagaman, Wade Scholey, and Harry McGee.
