Bessie was the daughter of the late, Jim Cupp and Caroline (Miracle) Cupp.

Bessie was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Sturgill Gibbons of Williamsburg, Kentucky; four sons, Ernest Cupp and his wife Sylvia and Charles E. Cupp all of Williamsburg, Kentucky and Douglas Cupp and Ralph Cupp and his wife Anita all of Kokomo, Indiana; one daughter, Betty Jean Ross and her husband Greg of Yale, Michigan; several grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Gracie Lundy of Kenier, Kentucky; two brothers, Paul Cupp of Barbourville, Kentucky and Leland Cupp of Cubbage, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
