Beatrice Ann “Bee” Flegel Platt, 83, a beloved Christian mother, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet.

Mrs. Platt was born the daughter of Rev. Martin William Flegel and Mary Mrytle McCants Flegel on April 15, 1933, in Andrews. She was a 1950 graduate of Williamsburg High School; received an Interior Design degree from Atlanta School of Design, Atlanta, GA, and worked for many years as an Interior Designer; was a longtime faithful member and supporter of the Gospel Harvester Chapel, Atlanta, GA; in 2015, Ms. Bee retired from Impact Ministries, Huntsville, Alabama, where she served for 14 years as an assistant minister and public relations employee. She was the epitome of a Southern Lady who’s life dedication was God, family, and friends. Her legacy defined in the Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes….”

She leaves behind three children: Lynette Royal, Hubert Carlyle (Cindy Emerick) Platt, Jr., Timothy Allen (Anna) Platt; six grandchildren, Jeremy Hickman, Tripp Platt, Niki Platt, Colt Platt, Rachel Klika, and Jed Klika; and three great grandchildren, Hazel, Ruby, and Kimberly. She was born 2nd of six children: Mary F. (Ruice) Lambert, Hazel F. (Shelby) Pou, Martin J. “Ponnie” (Donna) Flegel, Patti F. (Karl) Blankhead, and Charles L. (Jeanette) Flegel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her parents; one brother, Charles; one sister and her husband, Mary and Ruice; and brother-in-law, Karl.

A Home Going Celebration will be 4PM, Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. A reception in honor of “Ms Bee” will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
