On the 27 April 1795 Peter purchased 400 acres on the South Fork of the Otter River in Bedford County, VA.
Item 3__ I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Christenah Deardoff three hundred pounds Cash to be disposed of by her at pleasure during her life for her own use, should? Any remain after her life (he) (deth) to be divided (amogst) all my children John (and Samuel) Deardoff excepted. Item 4th I give bequest to my two sons John Deardoff & Samuel Deardoff __ hundred pounds three hundred cash out of the money arising from the sale of my estate to be their (& their heirs) for ever. Item 5th It is my will that the balance of the money arriving out of the sale of my estate be divided equally amongst the whole of my children, taking into (___tion) the several _____ _____ in advance by several of my children a (wil) be seen & there (afer) (vendered) _______ with them made equal with those who have not received any thing by way of advances Susy Deardoff wife of H.
