James E. "Jim" Beauchot, 85 years old of Monroeville, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Jim was born on August 13, 1931 in Monroeville, Indiana. He is the son of the late Clarence "Jack" Beauchot and the late Elizabeth (Westrick) Beauchot. Jim was united in marriage to Mary “Rosie” Ferraiolo on February 16, 1957 at St. Rose Catholic Church.

He was an honorably discharged veteran, serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Jim was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville.

He was employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, retiring in 1983. He was also the longtime manager of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville. In his life, Jim was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed playing cards. Being involved with his family was a central part of Jim's life.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Rosie Beauchot of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Judy (Charles) Irvin of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Gary (Rebecca) Beauchot of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Laurie (Kip) Amstutz of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Karen (Robert) Hoffman of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Mark (Susie) Beauchot of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Linda (Joe) Martin of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Lisa (Andy) Police of New Haven, IN; brother, Robert (Kathy) Beauchot of Monroeville, IN; brother, Clarence Joseph (Josey) Beauchot of Decatur, IN; brother, Joseph Beauchot of Monroeville, IN; brother, Gene (Jane) Beauchot of Monroeville, IN. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Stephanie Kline; Jake Irvin; Brooke Hoverman; Daisy Beauchot; Samuel Beauchot; Jack Beauchot; Hilary Motta; Aubrey Curtis; Luke Hoffman; Robin McCollum; Leah Fultz;, Samantha Hoffman; Andrea Hoffman; Adam Beauchot; Jessica Beauchot; Andrew Martin; Alex Martin; Evan Martin; Joselyn Martin; and Lucy Police; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding James in death were two sons, James Joseph Beauchot and John Philip Beauchot; four sisters, Kayte Grabner; Carolyn Blauvelt; Theresa Beauchot; and Sharon Wenger.

A prayer service will be held at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Father Lourdino officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Monroeville. Military graveside services will be provided by the American Legion and VFW Posts of Monroeville.

Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 South Water Street, Monroeville. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Masses or St. Rose Catholic School.
