He was born December 25, 1920, in Carson Valley, son of the late Orville and Ida (Brubaker) McKee.
He married Helen M. Wilson on May 31, 1947, in Mineral Point. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2014, after having shared 66 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Lyszyk and husband, Roman, in Michigan; a granddaughter, Olivia; a brother, Paul in Utah; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ness; a sister, Darlene Pope; and a brother, Donald.
clyde was a 1939 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and he served during WWII in the South Pacific in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He worked for the railroad shops in Altoona, and later for Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation as a station operator in Cresson and Lilly, from which he retired. He was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. He was an avid hunter and bowler and enjoyed fishing.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Church of the Brethren, immediately followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service with military honors, Pastor Bradley R. Runkle officiating.
Interment will be in Carson Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Carson Valley Church of the Brethren or Camp Blue Diamond, c/o the church.
