Frieda was born in New Bern [note: birth certificate specifies birth in Taylor, although family lived in New Bern community when she was a child] in Williamson County, Texas to Robert Weise and Pauline Thessimeier Weise. She was the youngest of fourteen children. She became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on April 6, 1917. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eola for 78 years.
Frieda entered into marriage with Berthold Gross on February 3 1932 in the St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall Texas.
Mrs. Gross is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, parents, and siblings.
God blessed them with two daughters, Birdie Fay and Betty Ann, two grandchildren, Natalie and Todd, and five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Nicholas, Mia, Lauren, and Rome. She is also remembered by her loving nephews and nieces, and many, many friends.
Frieda loved to travel to visit her California family, especially at Christmas. She loved to cook, make quilts, and crochet. She was also an avid Rangers Fan.
Funeral Service at First United Methodist Church 37 E. Beauregard, San Angelo, Thursday November 10 with burial at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
