Mr. Andrew Grisso, age 86, of 106 Grant Street, Clarksburg, WV passed away at 6:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his residence following an
extended illness. He was born February 25, 1921 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late Andrew Grisa and Mary Janicak Grisa.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Jean Ovsak Grisso, whom he married June 7, 1947, two sons & a daughter-in-law, Daniel A. & Angela Grisso, Nutter Fort, WV and David A. Grisso, Bridgeport, WV, three grandchildren, Christina Woods & her husband, Joshua, Marietta, OH, Andrew Grisso, Florence, KY, and Katherine Grisso, Bridgeport, WV, one great granddaughter, Isabella Woods, a sister-in-law, Joan Trecost Grisso, Clarksburg, WV and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Grisso was also preceded in death by one brother, John Paul Grisso and three sisters, Mildred M. Rokisky, Sue J. Yonovak & Mary A. Rokisky.
Mr. Grisso was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a former member of the old Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He had served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He loved and enjoyed his gardening and also hunting. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, & grandfather. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and loved to hear them call him “PaPa”. He was a retired glassworker with over 25 years of service with Fourco Glass & Jerry Run, retiring in 1983.
Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg from 12:00 Noon - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, where a Biblical Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A. M. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Charles E. McGinnis as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
