Adam was the son of Conrad Yarian and Eve Rupert of Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.
He married 1st November 5, 1840, Columbiana County, Ohio, to Mary A. Rupert.
He married 2nd on September 11, 1845, Columbiana County, Ohio, to Catherine May.

Adam was a farmer in Mahoning County, Ohio. A letter written by Jessie Pitchford in 1992 (she was born in 1904) recalls him in this way: "He was my great grandfather. I think he lived to be 94. I only "remember" him. I knew "The Lord's Prayer" in "high" German when I was 5 years old, and he gave me a nickel every time I would say it for him."
