MARGARET DELORES HAILEY, daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Little, was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina on March 22,1937. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 after a lengthy illness.

MARGARET received her education in Wadesboro, North Carolina. She married her first love Billy James Hailey, and from this union four children were born: Garland Vance Hailey, who preceded her in death, Grace, Gwen and Gavalian.

In the early 60s the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland. MARGARET worked several jobs before she became a devoted employee of Mercy Medical Center for over twenty-seven years, from which she retired.

MARGARET was a faithful member of Christ Edmondson United Methodist Church for a number of years. She was well loved by all and was known to everyone as "Na-Na". She loved to have her family around her. She had a beautiful smile, loving sense of humor, and a giving heart. She will be surely missed by all.

She leaves to mourn: a husband, Billy James Hailey; three children, Grace Helen Hailey, Gwen Hailey-Booker and Gavalian J. Hailey; mother-in-law, Sadie Mae Hailey of Wadesboro, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Little and Bertha Little, both of New York City; two daughters-in-law, Cynthia Hailey and Hye Cha Hailey of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a devoted son-in-law, Albert A. Booker, Jr.; devoted niece, Belinda Duncan; nine-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special friend Goldie Smith.

Our mother Margaret would want her family to not forget and acknowledge two very close family members; Jean Richardson and Betsy Whitelow.

Jean's home was like a second home to daughters Grace and Gwen. If not every weekend but most weekends for sure Margaret knew she was blessed to have Jean in her life; someone who would look out after her daughters as she would. The time her daughters spent doing their chores at Miss Jean's brought smiles on their faces. Grace and Gwen were rewarded with enough money to go shopping and have lunch. What a treat that will always be remembered.

Betsy was an educator for many years in the Washington, D.C. school system. Margaret knew she was always welcome and would visit her most weekends at her home in Washington. The bond shared continued up until the time Margaret became ill and could no long travel.

Thank you and God bless you both.
