Robert was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Valdasta, to Robert P. and Maggie Greer Burgess. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart Medal. He retired from Honeywell after 40 years of service.
Robert was a longtime member of Northwest Bible Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher of the Searchers Class for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and devoted grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Edna Burgess; daughter, Anna Pritchard; son, Stephen Burgess and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Garrett, Blake, Jacob, and Chandler Pritchard, Britteny Green, and Robert Burgess; great-granddaughter, Aurora Pritchard; sisters, Gail Bowers and Dora Lou Anderson; brother, Vernon Burgess; and many other family members.
