Rockie Lee Cross Sr., 57, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, in McAlester.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.

The family will be at 2608 N. Hickory St. prior to the graveside service.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Citra Cemetery in Allen with Paul Snow officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Oct. 29, 1949, in Citra, he was the son of Walter Lee and Elzada (Locke) Cross. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty.

He graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College and owned and operated Cross Repair Service.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was a master mason with the Krebs Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding four wheelers in the mountains.

Survivors include his mother, Elzada McCatherine, of Minco; son, Rockie Lee Cross and wife, Crystal, of McAlester; daughters, Paula Hyden and Doug, of McAlester, and Michelle Cross and Rich Dougan, Texarkana, Texas.

Also, grandchildren, Christopher Moss, Hailey Hyden, Michael Hyden, Matthew Hyden and Cheyann Cross; brother, Walter William "Smiley" Cross, of Minco.

And, sisters, Nancy Khun, of Weatherford, Kathy Kerr, of Calumet, Rosie Ashley, of Minco, Clara Crosby, of Oklahoma City, Christine Cross, of Minco, and Jettie VanZant, of Ponca City.

And, special friend, Roberta Parkhurst-Cook, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Cross; sister, Barbara, and brothers, Donnie, Lonnie and Hubert.

Pallbearers will be Rockie Lee Cross II, Dennis Williams, Jack Shropshire, Carl Marlow, Donald Williams and John Ray Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rich Dougan, Doug Hyden, Vernis Jones, Dennis Johnson, and Walter William "Smiley" Cross, Buck Wilson, Jason Wilson, Billy Jack Boatright and Glen Marshall.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
