Machinist & inventor: Received several patents on the
manufacture of screws, including
- U.S. Patent 9477 on December 14, 1852, for the first
practical machine in the U.S. to make pointed screws.
- U.S. Patent 15052 on June 3, 1856 for a feeding device
for screw-making machinery.

One of the 10 founders of "The New England Screw Co." in
1840.
