Ann Fouchee "Nancy" Tebbs married in 1815, Brigadier General John Pope DuVal, third son of Major William (1748-1842) and Anne Pope DuVal (c1753-92), of Richmond, Va. He attended college at Washington College (later W&L), 1806-07, and William & Mary and was a lawyer. He was secretary of state for Florida Territory, 1837-39, and wrote the Digest of the Territorial Laws of Florida (1840). He was a captain in the 20th U.S. Infantry in the War of 1812 and perhaps a brigadier general in the Texas Army Reserve in the War with Mexico. Their six children were Laura Peyton (1816-1913), William P. (1818-42), Dr. John Pope, Jr. (1822-66), Dr. Lucien Spence (1826-71), Ann Elizabeth (1828-77), and Lt. Harvie Sheffield DuVal (1832-1910).

Laura Peyton Duval (1816-1913) married in 1839, her first cousin, Judge Thomas Howard Duval (1813-1880), son of Governor William Pope (1784-1854) and Nancy Hynes DuVal (1786-1841).

Ann Elizabeth Duval (1828-77) last lived in Austin, Tx. She married in 1850, Brig. General William S. Steele (1819-85)(West Point 1840), son of Orlo (-1852) and Fanny Abbey Steele (1789-1851), of Albany, N.Y. He served as an officer in the Indian Wars and Mexican War. During the Civil War he served in the 7th Texas Cavalry, 1861-62, and served as brigadier general, 1862-65. Afterwards, he was Texas adjutant general, 1874-79. Their daughter, Laura Duval "Lily" Steele (c1856-post1910), took an important part in the educational development of Texas.

Lt. Harvie Sheffield DuVal (1833-1910)(UNC c1854) last lived in Santa Fe, N.M. He was a civil engineer, president of the Association of Southern Engineers for a number of years and made the first extensive survey of the Everglades. He was a lieutenant on the staff of Brigadier General Joseph Finnegan (CSA) in the Civil War. He married (1) in 1860, Mary Louisa Roszel, a cousin, in Loudoun County, Va. He married (2) in 1870, at Quincy, Fl., Olivia T. Harrison (1844-1930), daughter of Robert Henry and Elizabeth Lucas Smith Harrison (c1824-), of Petersburg, Va., and said to be a descendant of Benjamin Harrison who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Their five children were attorney Harvey Sheffield, Jr. (1871-1910) who last lived in Battle Creek, Mi.; Frank Fitzgerald (1873); Elizabeth Harrison (1879-1961); Hugh Fouchee (1881-1963); and Irene Duval (1884-1989).
