Her obituary from the October 30, 2016 Indianapolis Star:

Meredyth E. Lewis Hollingsworth passed away peacefully at 12:12 pm on October 28, 2016 at Avon Health and Rehab in Avon. Meredyth was born in Perrysville, Indiana, the daughter and eleventh child of Joseph H. Lewis and Cloe Teegarden Lewis. Her parents preceded her in death, as did her beloved husband of 48 years, Irvin C. "Irv" Hollingsworth, who passed away in 2006, and her ten siblings. She is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews, numerous friends made during her teaching career and innumerable former students.

Irv and Merry were both teachers in Avon schools and shared a love of music travel and their extended family. Meredyth always took great delight in encountering students from many years past to learn of their progress in life. During her career as a teacher, Meredyth forged deep and lasting friendships with teachers in Avon and Brownsburg that she cherished throughout her life. Meredyth was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Brownsburg. In her later years, Meredyth drove 120 miles roundtrip weekly to play the piano for the Perrysville United Methodist and attend services with her sister, Peg Congleton. Meredyth's grave marker notes that she "taught to the sound of music." She and Irv are together making music again.

Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. on Monday October 31, 2016 at Calvary United Methodist Church with funeral services there at the church 10 a.m. on Tuesday November 1. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute alongside Irv with the music from the bell tower playing nearby. Online guestbook at Matthews Mortuary.
