Kokomo Tribune - Friday, January 10, 1936:

Mrs. Katherine James, 93, succumbed Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank J. Hullinger of North Webster Street, after a week's illness from pneumonia. Mrs. James had been active and able to be up and around about her daily tasks until she was stricken with pneumonia about a week ago.

She was born in Rush County, coming to Howard County about 70 years ago. Her husband, Joseph James, preceded her in death about 50 years ago, and since that time she has resided in Kokomo. She was a member of the old Christian Congregational Church.

Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. John Smith and Mrs. Joseph Tague, both of Kokomo. Four sons are deceased. There are a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Mrs. Hullinger's home with the Rev. Benjamin F. Smith, pastor of the United Brethren Church, officiating.
