Marilla Andrews was born on December 26, 1903, in Erwin, Kingsbury County, South Dakota, where she grew up on a 320 acre Homestead Act farm with her wedded parents, Cassian Andrews & Sarah Alice Ingalls and her six siblings, Alice, Byron, Jerome, Cassian, Belle, and Sarah. About 1907, the family sold the farm and migrated by covered wagons to Clements, St. Mary's County, Maryland where her father bought a 300 acre tobacco farm. After her father Cassian died in 1911, her mother sold the farm and purchased a 100 acre waterfront farm known as "Little Horns Point", located on LeCompte Bay, 5 miles west of Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland. Marilla Andrews graduated from Cambridge High School in 1923 and graduated from McQueen Gibbs Nursing School in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland where she became a Registered Nurse. She was employed at the Easton Memorial Hospital. In 1927, Marilla married U.S. Cavalryman, Guy William Harrington (native of Vienna, Dorchester Co., Md). Guy & Marilla bought two farms along the Edmondson Creek, near Tanyard, Caroline County, Maryland encompassing over 300 acres where they harvested produce and raised livestock. They had two daughters, Betty Harrington (born 1928) and Stella Harrington (born 1930). In 1950, their marriage ended in a divorce. She then married PFC Edward Roland Christopher (native of Bethlehem, Caroline Co, Md.) in 1951, who died in 1955. She then married U.S. Navy Man/ Merchant Marine Raymond Earl Sheerin (native of Buffalo, Erie County, New York). Marilla Andrews Sheerin died at the home of her daughter, Stella Harrington George just before sunrise on February 3, 1983 at 10687 Ocean Gateway Easton, Maryland. She lovingly left behind: five grandchildren; Joyce Ellingsworth, Wayne Ellingsworth, Bonnie Ellingsworth, J. Guy George, Stella Lee George and great grand children; Don James, Amy James, Bobby Taylor, Natalie Taylor, Betsy Ellingsworth, Matthew Ellingsworth, Kimberlie Ellingsworth, Robert Satterfield, David Satterfield and Molly George.
