MSgt. James W. Peach, (Ret.), after 27 years of service to our country as a medic in the Air Force, passed peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He served in the Korean War, in Japan, and in Turkey. He truly loved his country.

After coming home, he worked for Red Johnson and then decided to open Phoebus Jim Peach Texaco Station, that he was very proud of. He was involved in many activities such as the Hampton Regatta, Phoebus Days, and many more. He was a member of the Langley Speedway, member of VFW, American Legion, and the Masons. He was a resident of Hampton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine J. Peach; sons, Keith and wife Carrie, Freddy and wife Barbara, and Bobby Peach all of Hampton; step-son, David Pack; sister, Thelma Hamilton and husband Bob of TN; and brother, Emerson Peach and wife Doris of TN; multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Robin Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.T. Peach, Sr. and Ethel Addie Stokes; son, Billy Peach; daughter, Debbie; brothers, Lewis Lee Peach, H.T. Peach, Jr., and Paul R. Peach; sisters, Alma Ellen, Myrtle Briggs, and Virginia Brown.

Mr. Peach touched many peoples' lives with his outstanding kindness. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him, but will never be forgotten in our hearts.


A Celebration of Jim's life will be held Saturday, July 11 2015 at the funeral home with full military honors for the great man, officiated by the Reverend Robert Hamilton of TN. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.


Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
