According to the Tye family bible: "Samuel Tye and Miss J. H. Morden were married June 22 1853 by the Rev'd Thomas Davis, Methodist Minister, M. E. Church, London Township, Canada West." On January 16, 1861 they were living with two sons and two daughters near Bayfield in Stanley Township, Huron County. By April 4, 1871 they had finally settled near Lambeth in Westminster Township, Middlesex County. They had twelve children together: William John Tye who married Susan Bryant; Prudence Ellen Tye who married Eli E. McKay; Sherman Brown Tye; Charlotte Ann Tye; Margaret Hannah Tye; Alfred E. Tye who married Mary E. Jameson; Mary Sermenia Tye; Charles Morden Tye who married Sarah A. Behnke; Janet E. Tye who married Rev. Charles W. Arrand; Samuel Tye Jr. who married Nora Martha Bryant; Martha V. Tye; Delilah Jane Tye who married Robert G. Leslie.
